Poster with the newspaper cover telling about the death of the financier Ivar Kreuger in Paris in March 1932.
His death became world news. The Kreuger empire was based on a nationwide monopoly on match sales, for a time controlling over two-thirds of the world's production. However, it turned out that profit forecasts had been inflated and assets overvalued, and in connection with the impending crash, Kreuger took his own life. However, his legacy lives on in companies such as Swedish Match and Tändstickspalatset in central Stockholm.
Newspaper covers provide a super interesting insight into a moment in history and draw the viewer into another time, and look really good on the wall!
